Jeremiah Nathanial Johnson, known lovingly as "Juju" and "Miah" to those closest to him, passed away on July 7, 2026, at the age of 29. Born on December 1, 1996, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jeremiah was a young man who lived with purpose, passion, and an infectious energy that touched everyone around him.
Jeremiah proudly served in the United States Army for five years, both overseas and stateside, dedicating himself to his country with the same determination that defined every chapter of his life. After his service, he pursued his education and had just completed his bachelor's degree in computer science. Never one to slow down, Jeremiah had recently begun an exciting new career at NASA, putting his hard-earned degree to work in a role that reflected his intelligence and ambition.
Those who knew Jeremiah knew his smile and his laugh before anything else. He was social, outgoing, and charismatic, the kind of person who could light up any room and make a stranger feel like an old friend. He was loved by all, and that love was always returned tenfold. Jeremiah was an avid sports fan with a fierce loyalty to his New York Yankees and Denver Broncos. You could always find him with a Michelob Ultra with lime in hand, watching the game and keeping everyone entertained. He was also an amazing pool player who had been competing in tournaments with his sights set on qualifying for competition in Las Vegas.
Jeremiah is survived by his parents, Jay and Florence Johnson; his sister, Marisa Johnson; his grandmothers, Jean Ann Johnson and Gloria Lopez; and his grandfather, Jose Lugo. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Justin Hathaway, Reece Carter, Abraham Valdez, Andrew Johnson, Jesus Lopez, and Andrew Beyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Abboud and Vicente Jaramillo.
Jeremiah left this world far too soon, but the light he carried will never fade from the hearts of those who loved him. In the words of Maximus Decimus Meridius, "What we do in life, echoes in eternity."
