A visitation for Mr. Jesus O. "Chewy" Reyes, 77, of Clinton, OK will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday November 11, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home 1410 E. Bowman Ave where a prayer vigil will follow at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 12, 2012 in the San Albino Catholic Church in Mesilla, New Mexico and burial will follow in the in the San Albino Cemetery. Jesus Orona Reyes was born June 22, 1935 to Refugio and Francisca (Orona) Reyes in a farming community out side of Las Cruces, NM and passed away, Monday, November 5, 2012 in his Clinton home. Jesus was raised in New Mexico and helped his family with the farm all of his young life. He was married to Maria Elena "Nena" Sanchez in March of 1955. He was employed with Shell Oil Drilling in 1966 drilling holes. He traveled to several states with his job and the family settled in Clinton, OK in 1968. He was also employed with the Nicholson Monument Company for several years and he retired in 2000. He has been raised in the Catholic Faith. He is survived by five children, Tommy Reyes and wife, Lawana, Cordell, OK, Margie Esparza and husband, Frank, Norman, OK, Raquel Dowdell, Seattle, WA, Susana Hobbs, Eva Hise and husband, Henry, Clinton; the mother of his children, Maria Reyes-Gross, OKC, OK; nine brothers and sisters, Anita Galvan and husband, John, Eduvijes Velthysen, Nellie Reyes, and Jose Reyes and wife, Bertha, all of Las Cruses, NM, Robert Reyes and wife, Patsy, Fair Acres, NM, Maria Perez and husband, Louis, Albq, NM, Lupe Reyes, Richland, WA, Refugio, Jr., and wife, Rose, Lawton, OK, Ruben Reyes, Hobbs, NM. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Cassie Willis, Carlos Reyes, Clinton Foster, all of Oklahoma City, Aaron Reyes, Clinton, OK, Sarah Werden and husband, Steve, Seattle, WA, Dewayne Dowdell and wife, Shannon, Everett, WA, Michael Frazier, Norman, OK, Erick Hobbs, Ft. Worth, TX and four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ricardo and Roman Reyes.
