John Lange Carter August 6, 1944 - December 24, 2019 A Life Observed…. John Lange Carter, consciously wore the mantle of his heritage. An American and proud of that heritage, John served in the United States Army Infantry. He was true to that heritage. As a patrol agent in the United States Border Patrol, John executed his duties always in the light of the protection of our national heritage; to preserve it from foreign invasion. Loyalty to the Border Patrol was of imminent importance to John Carter. He was true to that heritage. Vigilant and wary of cultural drift that could erode our constitutionally guaranteed personal rights, he stood firm on the founding documents of our land. He was true to that heritage. The Carter family had its own crafted heritage. One of service to the nation & the preservation of individual freedom. There was always "The Carter Way". John was true to that heritage. John was a Christian. Part of that immortal spiritual heritage. He was a student of the Bible. It greatly influenced his reasoning. Every believer strives to be true to that heritage. John was acutely concerned with that mantle of personal heritage. It was his constant in this life. He was true to that heritage. Now that heritage will be true to him. - Mike Strawn, 30 December 2019 John was the son of Harlon Bronson Carter and Mary Juanita Lange. He died in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of 75.
