John David Salopek

John “Jack” David Salopek passed away on July 17, 2026, at the age of 75.

A lifelong resident of Las Cruces, Jack lived a life marked by love and fierce dedication to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was this dedication that will be remembered most by his immediate family.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Vicki Salopek; his children Tera (Rome) Geyer of Chandler, AZ, Claudia Salopek of Las Cruces, and John Salopek of Las Cruces; five grandchildren, Rome David Geyer, Haley Geyer, Emma Geyer, Jenna Geyer and Clara Perry; and five great-grandchildren, Sadie, Marcy, Sydney, Ruby and Jack. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Jim Salopek, sister Elizabeth Hoffman, sister Christine Brown, brothers-in-law Bill Hoffman, Bob Kinney, Bill Brown, and sister-in-law Marcia Salopek. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Kinney, brother Steven Salopek, and sister Ellen Walth.

His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Jack, a.k.a. Dad or Pa, will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral or memorial services will be held at this time. His family appreciates your thoughts, support and prayers.
