In Loving Memory of Jose Angel Aguirre “Angel”

Jose Angel Aguirre, affectionately known as “Angel,” passed away at the age of 30 on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Belen, New Mexico. He was born on Sunday, February 12, 1995, at Memorial Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

He was the beloved son of Jose Alonzo Aguirre, Deina Lizeth Aguirre and Mely Hernandez. He is survived by his siblings: Miriah Aguirre, Jordan Aguirre, Amaryllis Valenzuela, Kami Trujillo, Josiah Trujillo, and Lucas Trujillo. Angel was also a devoted godparent to Lumidee Hernandez, Nathan Bergdoll, and Elijah Lopez.

Angel was a proud graduate of Onate High School, class of 2014. He further distinguished himself through his involvement with RKR and the Sol Forge Saber Academy, previously known as Knights of Jedha.

He was cherished by his parents, Jose Alonzo Aguirre and Deina Lizeth Aguirre, and by his nephews: Elijah Lee Lopez, Liam Eastyn Lopez, and Michael Brandon Lopez. His loving grandmother, Mely Hernandez, as well as his aunts and uncles, Lorena Hernandez, Angelica Hernandez, Luis and Rebeca Lara, Martha and Meny Herrera, Megan Molloy, Lety and Vicente Longoria, Juani Aguirre, Dolores Aguirre, Martha Espinoza, and Angela Aguirre, all held him in the highest regard.

He was preceded in death by his relatives Baltazar Aguirre, Eusebia Aguirre, Luis Hernandez, Norma Medrano, and Evangelina Aguirre.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jose Aguirre, Jordan Aguirre, Bryan Belanger, Leonard Lara, Edgar Ceballos, Alexis Medrano, Bryan Medrano, Cruz Lara, Brandon Lopez, Javier Trujillo (Popz), Nathan Bergdoll, and Carlos Vasquez.

Mr. Aguirre will be fondly remembered as a devoted son, brother, friend, and godparent. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held from  5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday February 2, 2026 at New Covenant Fellowship 20 Holy Cross Rd., Mesilla Park, NM 88047.  The Funeral Mass will begin at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at New Covenant Fellowship with burial will follow at Masonic cemetery
