Jose Carmen
Olvera
Aug 22, 1973 — Aug 29, 2026
With deep sorrow in our hearts, we announce the passing of José Carmen Olvera, known as “Carmelo”, who left this world on August 29, 2026 in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 53.
Carmelo was born on August 22, 1973, in Sain Alto, Zacatecas, Mexico. He was the eldest son of Juan Olvera Chairez and María Amparo Gómez Madrid.
Throughout his life, Carmelo dedicated many years to farming. He was a hardworking man who understood the value of effort, perseverance, and determination. He was known for his strong character and firm personality, and he lived life on his own terms. His Catholic faith was an integral part of his life and his roots.
Carmelo leaves behind a family that will keep his memory alive from generation to generation.
He is survived by her four children: Anna Karen Olvera, José Juan Olvera, Jovanna Olvera and Adán Olvera, the youngest of the family; as well as her beloved grandson, Lukas Olvera, whom she loved deeply and who held a very special place in her heart. As we bid her our final farewell, we found solace in the words of Mary Elizabeth Frye:
He is also survived by his parents, Juan Olvera Chairez and María Amparo Gómez Madrid; his two brothers, Alfredo Olvera and José Olvera; his six sisters, Rosa Olvera, Mireya Olvera, Marcela Olvera, Amparo Olvera, Rosario Olvera and San Juana Olvera; as well as his other relatives and loved ones.
Although his time on this earth has come to an end, Carmelo's story continues through his four children, his beloved grandson Lukas, the love of his family, and the memories they will always carry in their hearts. His strength, his determination, and the years he dedicated to raising his family will remain as part of his legacy.
As we bid her our final farewell, we found solace in the words of Mary Elizabeth Frye:
"Do not stand by my grave and weep, I'm not there. I'm not sleeping.
Rest in peace, Dad. You will always be a part of us, and your memory will live on forever in the family you leave behind. Until we meet again.
