Juan L. Leyva Jr, 75, of Las Cruces, died Sunday May 9, 2010. He was born Oct. 31, 1934 in Ft. Quitman, TX to Juan and Felipa Leyva Sr. Juan was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably. He had been a member of the dairy community after many years of faithful service and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife Jenny, his loving daughter Sandra Sanchez and three grandchildren Michael (Angel), Sandra Annette (Johnny) and Michelle (Orlando), two great-grandchildren Oralea and Jaycub all of Las Cruces. Three sisters Alicia L. Castro and husband Esequiel of Hatch, NM, Tencha L. Widner and husband Gilbert of El Paso, TX and Chunie Leyva of San Elizario, TX. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home with Fr. Ricardo Hinojal of Our Lady of Health Catholic Church officiating. Inurnment for his cremains will follow at St. Augustine Columbarium at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite St. The US Army and the Devil Dogs Marines will provide military honors.
