Juan P. Santistevan

Juan P. Santistevan, 76, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at his home. He was born in Costilla, New Mexico on December 11, 1934 to Sais and Amalia Santistevan. Juan was a retired New Mexico State Police Officer with 27 years of faithful service. Juan is survived by his loving wife, Mary L. Santistevan; his children, Charlene Santistevan, Darlene Villareal and husband Robert; John C. Santistevan and wife Loretta; Jack M. Santistevan and wife Gloria; and Jason T. santistevan and wife Rebecca; 3 brothers, Erminio Santistevan and wife Sobeida; Arcenio Santistevan and Abel Santistevan. Also surviving him are 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Getz Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 5 to 7 pm followed by a prayer vigil at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 1:00 pm atthe Basilica of San Albino in Mesilla,NM with Fr. Richard Catanach officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at San Albino Cemetery.
