Judy Marie Smith

Judy Marie Smith, age 74, of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away peacefully August 14, 2025 with her beloved husband of 55 years by her side.

She was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on October 20, 1950; one of 12 siblings of Orval and Mabel Worley. The family moved often, eventually settling in Alamogordo, New Mexico. There she attended high school and married the love of her life Larry D. Smith on March 20, 1970 after meeting during Christmas caroling.

She fought a hard battle throughout her life due to rheumatic fever as a child. Thankfully March of Dimes helped with a major surgery at 13, and we are forever grateful to them.

Judy loved crafting, painting, weiner dogs, and most of all being Gigi to her granddaughter. She maintained a positive attitude and an amazing ability to not worry. Her compassion, love of life, and laughter will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Terry, Jimmie, Richard, Jerry, Janet, and Donna. She is survived by her husband Larry Smith, sons Wesley (wife, Ginger) and Jason, granddaughter Winnie, along with siblings Janice (husband, Bob), Bill (wife, Reyna), Bobby (wife, Laura), June, and Dale (wife, Brenda), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 30th at Getz Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers please donate to March of Dimes. RSVP for reception luncheon with Ginger.
