Kevin James Hale passed suddenly April. 21, 2026 in Radium Springs, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mary (Herman) Hale and Erwin "Buster" Hale. He is survived by his wife of twelve years, Rebecca Hale, siblings Karen (Jim) Gilbert, Pamela (Dave) Kahl and Patrick (Barbara) Hale, three step-children, and two children from a previous marriage, as well as four grandchildren and extended family.

Born in Waterbury, Conn., he later moved to Cheshire, Conn., where he lived for 20 years. Kevin was a proud graduate of Holy Cross High School Class of 1975. He attended Waterbury State Technical School and worked for Benders and Oatley Mechanical. He was elected Treasurer of Waterbury in 1986.

Described by family and friends as a fun-loving spirit, charming, extroverted, smart, loyal, lovingly stubborn, full of life, endlessly curious, and the guy who made everybody laugh, Kevin had an insatiable zest for life. At the end of the day he was true to himself, and never passed up a good scotch or turned down the volume on Tower of Power.

Kevin and Rebecca married on a sunny day in 2014 on a beach in Sebastian, Fla. It was an intimate and joyous ceremony shared with family and friends. Along with embarking on an unwavering journey with the love of his life, Kevin became a constant and influential presence in the lives of his three step-children, Owen, Molly, and Adam Glendening. They respected and loved him deeply.

He enjoyed hiking, sailing, chess, golf, skiing, and fly fishing, and was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees.

Well-known in his Connecticut community, Kevin always treasured his close-knit "crew" of friends whom he knew from his years at Holy Cross. Despite life leading them down different paths, there was an underlying bond that was never broken, and countless memories that can never be erased.

In 2019, Kevin and Rebecca moved to Radium Springs where they began a new chapter of their great love story in the shadow of the majestic Robledo Mountains. Together they created the peaceful and easy life they'd dreamed of, enjoying spectacular sunsets and the simple, slow-moving life the Southwest has to offer. There, he made a slew of new friends, something that came easily to him.

On the day of his passing, Kevin was hiking in the mountains with one of his oldest, dearest friends, Bob Skirkanich. It was one of Kevin's favorite places to be, and he was thrilled to share the adventure with his friend.

No matter where they were, when their favorite song came on, Kevin and Rebecca would stop and dance. One day, they will dance to that song again, and forever hold hands like they used to.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
