Life Legacy

Emma M. Garcia, 83, of Dona Ana, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2015. She was born to Luis and Josefa Maynez on Aug. 23, 1931. She was a devout and lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reymundo; brother Hector, and sister Raquel. Survivors include her sons Raymond and wife, Martha, Joe and wife, Jenny, and David and wife, Cindy; daughters Celina and fiance, Bill Einig, Margaret and husband, Donny Rheay, and Ana and husband, Michael Stewart; grandchildren Jacob and Christina Garcia, Henry and Sean Stewart, Erin Beth Roberts and Ann Marie Garcia-Roberts, Hanah and Tristan David Rheay, Isabella Salazar, and Marie Lawrence; great-grandson Samuel Garcia; and sisters Rosamaria (Rosie) Maynez and Irma (Lupita) Glover and husband, Rex. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. today, May 7, 2015, in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church in Dona Ana. Interment will be at the Dona Ana Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Emma's memory, to the Maynez Family Scholarship.
