Lois Louise Simonton, 88, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away on January 31, 2026. Born in Oakley, KS, Lois was the daughter of Ernestine and Julius Fischer. She was a sister to Joe Fischer and the late Roberta Logan, Fred Fischer and Genevieve Scully.

She was a loving mother of four, grandmother of 8, and great-grandmother of 2. Lois lived most of her life in Kansas. She was a housewife and mother, raising four children before working for USDA and HUD. After retirement, she moved to Las Cruces, NM. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. She’s survived by her children, Jeff, Jeanie, Jennifer (Vaughan), Joleen (Cooper) and her grandchildren: Devin and Shelby Cooper, Ashley Vaughan, Zach Vaughan, Amanda (Vaughan) Matoba, Abigail (Vaughan) Baumann, Alexandria Vaughan, and AnnaMarie Vaughan, and great grandchildren Norah Matoba and Ryland Vaughan.
