Lucy Sambrano

Lucy Sambrano was born to Celso Herrera and Apolinia Navarro Herrera in Santa Rita, New Mexico on April 8, 1916, and was raised in Fierro NM. She peacefully entered the gates of heaven on April 5, 2013. After living in Los Angeles, CA for many years, she married Eloy Sambrano, who preceded her in death in 1999. In 1981 Lucy, Eloy and Apolonia (her mother), moved to Las Cruces, NM, to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. Lucy found her peace in Las Cruces and loved the Organ Mountains. Lucy loved crocheting, making quilts, eating at La Posta, and being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was everyone's Grandma Lucy and always welcomed people with a smile on her face. Lucy was a member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. She is survived by daughter Pauline Sambrano, whom she always referred to as
