It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Manuela Juana Vallejos, a cherished mother, daughter, and grandmother, who left us on October 27, 2026, at the age of 88 surrounded by her loved ones. Born on July 22, 1938, in Hot Springs, New Mexico, Manuela lived a life rich with love, family, and countless memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was known as Nellie, Lil Grandma, and Grandma Jelly.
Manuela devoted her life to her family as a dedicated homemaker, creating a haven of warmth and support within her beloved Las Cruces home, where laughter and kindness reigned. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her Five Children: Frank (Corrie), Robert (Susie), David (Shay), Tony, Marcella (Mario); Fourteen Grandchildren, and Thirteen Great Grandchildren. She loved to take family to church and yard sales. She would always cook fideos and pancakes for her family while they all did arts and crafts.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lino & Rufigia Chavez, and her daughter Josephine Vallejos.
As we gather to honor Manuela's life, we invite friends and family to join us in celebrating her legacy. Rosary will be held At Getz Funeral Home on November 12, 2026 at 7:00pm. A public viewing will take place before the Rosary starting at 6:00pm. Manuela will be layed to rest on December 3, 2026 following Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary starting at 10:00am.
In these coming days, we will reflect on the joy she brought into our lives, the lessons she imparted, and the enduring strength she exemplified. As we navigate this profound loss, we take solace in knowing that Manuela Juana Vallejos will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Rest in peace, dear Manuela. Your love will carry on through the generations you cherished so dearly.
