A beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, Soccoro passed away with her loving family by her side, after a lengthy battle to cancer on Saturday - July 18, 2026. She was born on June 19, 1975 near Patzcuado, Mexico, as a sweet, kind person, and the youngest child in a family of 10 children Socorro attended school in Mexico and as a young adult, she decided to start a new life in the U.S. She made her journey to Oregon and eventually to California in her early 20’s, when she met the love of her life and best friend for 27 years, Andres Chavez. They eventually worked together where she was his secretary and learned the trade of Real Estate. Her greatest joy in life was the birth of her 2 children – Sasha and Andres. She struggled for 8-9 years to bear children. She sought every remedy she saw fit until she found her solution and Sashita was born. As a new mom, she held her baby so close as she was filled with the overwhelming joy of motherhood. After 7 years of prayers with Sasha, patience and a faith in God, Socorro was blessed with motherhood for a second time in her life with the birth of Andresito. Her new life journey took her and her young family to New Mexico where they were blessed again with the perfect fit for their family in Las Cruces. They found the most warm, welcoming community where they built their family life together. They eventually bought a beautiful house that she made their home.

Throughout her life, Socorro always had a love for crafts. In her early 20’s, she founded a small business crocheting high end, custom clothes for women and blankets for family and friends. Her love for this craft showed in her work. As a mother, her love for arts and crafts became more apparent when she found her new love with baking and cooking. She enjoyed every opportunity to bake or cook for her children’s birthdays and for their school events as she made everything so perfect. She will be missed by so many, but most of all, by her children. She is also survived by her 3 sisters, 6 brothers and her nieces and nephews that love her so much. All services will take place on Monday 8/3/26 with the Viewing from 12pm – 1pm at the Getz Funeral Home – 1410 E. Bowman Ave, Las Cruces and the rosary will follow from 1pm-1:30pm. The mass will then take place at Holy Cross Catholic Church – 1327 N. Miranda St, Las Cruces from 2pm-3pm. A Celebration of Life Ceremony to follow at Holy Cross Recreational Hall from 3pm-5:00pm.
