Maria was a dedicated and loving wife to her beloved husband, Michael Holmberg. Together, they crafted a life rich in laughter and adventure, exploring new horizons and creating cherished memories alongside one another. With an infectious laugh that echoed joyfully, she had an extraordinary gift for making others smile, always lighting up the room with her great sense of humor.

Her passion for animals was as profound as her deep love for the ocean. As a devoted advocate for animal welfare, Maria opened her heart and home to many rescues, providing a safe refuge for creatures in need. Each animal she welcomed became part of her family, a testament to her boundless compassion.

Maria's journey of knowledge included a year of study at Normandale Community College, where she cultivated her skills and broadened her horizons. Professionally, she served as the main translator for JCPenney in Kentucky, bridging communication gaps and fostering connections.

Her unwavering love earned her the coveted title of "World's Best Wife," a sincere testament to her dedication to Michael and their shared life. Together, they created a tapestry of beautiful moments, woven from laughter, love, and the thrill of exploration.

Maria Luisa Holmberg leaves behind her cherished husband, Michael, and her beloved mother, LuLu Hernandez. She will be deeply missed, remembered in the echoes of laughter, the gentle waves of the ocean, and the loving gazes of her rescue animals. A Viewing is scheduled for 12:00 pm on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Getz Funeral Home, followed by the memorial service at 1:30 pm.
