Marisela “Chela” Ortiz-Ortega

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Marisela “Chela” Ortiz-Ortega, who entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2026.

Born on January 30, 1962, Marisela was a woman of unwavering faith whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She loved cooking and found happiness in bringing loved ones together around the table. Her warm heart, contagious giggle, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, George Kuper; her mother, Marcela Chavez De Ortiz; her eight siblings; her five children, Sammy, Noemi, Jonathan, Jasmin, and Jocelyn; and her cherished grandchildren, Andres, Alexander, and Axel. She was preceded in death by her father, Cristino Ortiz Borunda.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace with the Lord she faithfully loved and served. Her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion to family will live on forever in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 beginning at  2:00 p.m. with a visitation, followed by service at 3:00 pm at Getz Funeral Home,1410 E. Bowman Ave. Las Cruces, NM.
