Martha Aldaz Chavez

Martha (Marsha) Aldaz Chavez from Las Cruces, New Mexico was 74 years old when the angels called her home on Sunday, August 3, 2025 as she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 19, 1950, in Anthony, Texas. God blessed us with a beautiful loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, friend and incredible sister. She gave us life with continuous and unconditional love and support. She passionately championed the importance of setting goals to pursue higher education, firmly believing that with dedication and effort, anyone could achieve their dreams. She had a nurturing spirit— always offering help and kindness to others without ever seeking anything in return. She cherished time with her beloved family, siblings and loyal puppies. She will be dearly missed and forever dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Margarito (Chito) Aldaz and Josefa Ontivero. Her grandparents Roman Ontiveros and Natividad Lara Ontiveros. Also, preceded in death by her aunt and uncles. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Lupe Chavez and her daughters, Crystal (Pat) Sambrano and Elicia Chavez. Also, survived by her siblings, Raul (Rosa) Aldaz of Ogden, Utah; Samuel (Dominga) Aldaz of El Paso, Texas; Priscilla (Rick+) Gutiérrez of La Union, NM; Elizabeth & Quot; Betty & Quot; Mowles of Anthony, NM; Terrie (Stephan) Haisan of El Paso, Texas. As well as her grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Lupe Chavez, Pat Sambrano, Michael Haisan, Stephen Mowles, Wesley King, and Jake Sambrano. Honorary pallbearers will be Elicia Chavez, Samuel Aldaz, Raul Aldaz, Brinton Mowles and her beloved granddaughter. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM with prayer vigil scheduled to follow at 7:00 PM. A funeral liturgy is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025 at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Berino Cemetery.
