Martha Garibay

Martha Garibay, 70, of Las Cruces, entered eternal life on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009. She was born July 29, 1939 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico to Manuel and Andrea Martinez Lopez. Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed and was an exceptional cook but her passion was for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Garibay will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Ildefonso Garibay of the family home; sons Alfonso Garibay and wife Lilia of Canutillo, TX, Mario Garibay and wife Guadalupe, Carlos Garibay and wife Isela and Arturo Garibay and wife Chance all of Las Cruces; daughters Beatriz Favela and husband Joaquin of Las Cruces and Erika Reno and husband Daren of Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving her are 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, son Juan Manuel and by her daughter Antonia Garibay. Martha was a loving and caring wife and mother. Martha was never too busy to spend time with family and was always ready to help. She was a hard working woman of great values and strong convictions. She was an inspiration to her children and grandchildren will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be at Masonic Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
