Mary Alma Rebecca “Becky” Blain Jackson

Mary Alma Rebecca “Becky” Blain Jackson, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, at her home in Las Cruces, New Mexico. A lifelong resident of Las Cruces, Becky was born on October 10, 1938, to William Blain and Nell May Blain.

Becky was raised in Las Cruces alongside her brothers, Billy Blain and Jesse Blain. She graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1956 and later attended trade school, where she was certified in dental assisting. Her career included working with Dr. Tucker, Dr. Born, and the White Sands Missile Range Dental Clinic, a branch of Fort Bliss.

On February 18, 1993, Becky married Dean Jackson in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they shared many years filled with family, friendship, adventure, and cherished memories. Becky was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family remained one of the most important parts of her life.

Becky and Dean shared a wonderful love of travel and adventure. Together, they traveled to every state in the United States, creating memories and experiencing the beauty, history, and character of communities across the country. Their adventures also took them abroad to Europe and Russia, giving them the opportunity to experience different cultures, places, and traditions. Travel was an important part of their life together and provided them with countless stories and memories that they shared with family and friends.

Throughout her life, Becky enjoyed many hobbies and creative pursuits. She loved sewing, bowling, painting, and interior decorating. She especially enjoyed playing cards with her closest girlfriends, sharing laughter, friendship, and countless cherished moments together.

Becky also had a love for excitement and entertainment. She enjoyed taking trips to Laughlin, Las Vegas, Ruidoso, and Sunland Park, where she embraced the fun and excitement of each destination. She particularly enjoyed gambling and had a knack for video poker, winning many memorable hands along the way. These trips were opportunities to make memories, share laughs, and enjoy life to the fullest.

Becky also gave generously of her time to her community, serving on the New Mexico Child Abuse and Neglect Citizen Review Board. Through her service, she contributed her time and compassion to the welfare of children and families in New Mexico.

Becky is survived by her beloved husband, Dean Jackson of Las Cruces, New Mexico; her daughters, Natalie Salopek and Robyn Jarvis, and Robyn’s wife, Laurie Blanco. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jesse Haynie and his wife, Kristen; Rebecca Maese and her husband, Danny; Clara Correa and her husband, Trey; Alexandra Burke; and Danielle Wright and her husband, David.

Her great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy, include Ryder and Colt Haynie; Emarie, Sadie, and Natalie Maese; Sutton and Collyns Correa; Ariah and Arabella Alejandrez; and Theo, Maxx, Luna, and Baer Wright.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nell May Blain; her brothers, Billy Blain and Jesse Blain; her son, Blain Jarvis; and her son-in-law, Billy Salopek. Becky will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, devotion to family, adventurous spirit, and the many lives she touched throughout her 87 years. She lived a life filled with family, friendship, laughter, creativity, travel, and cherished memories. Her memory will live on through her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and the many friends and members of her community who were fortunate to know and love her.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2026, Getz Funeral Home. Officiant: Bill Ewing, Interment will be held at Masonic Cemetery, on a later date.
