Mary E. Hedgecoke, age 94 of Las Cruces, NM entered eternal life on Friday, December 24, 2004, at Cottonbloom Adult Care Center. She was born October 26, 1910 in Tinnie, New Mexico to Jim and Grace Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jackson, two brothers, Kid and Bill, and a sister Doll Jackson. Her husband R.H. "Coke" Hedgecoke, longtime resident of Ruidoso and Alamogordo, NM passed away April 13, 1995. Survivors include her son Mr. Wade Hedgecoke and wife Martha of Las Cruces, NM, her daughter Mrs. Veda Tucker and husband Bill of Ruidoso, NM, and stepson Jim Hedgecoke and wife Carroleen of Durant, OK, other survivors include numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great great-grandchildren. Mary and "Coke" lived in Ruidoso from 1930 until 1979. They owned rental property, drove the school bus for the Ruidoso school system, and in later years, Coke was a Probation Officer. After retiring they spent 16 winters in Kino Bay, Mexico and their summers in Alamogordo, NM. Mary moved to Las Cruces in 1999. Mary loved cooking, dancing and fishing. She was famous for her coconut cream and lemon meringue pies. The first question she would ask when you went to see her was "Have you eaten?" A graveside service will be held at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Ruidoso, NM on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 1:00 PM. PDF Printable Version
