Mary Frances Yarbrough Jr.

Mary Frances Yarbrough, ne Webb, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away at the age of 84 in Las Cruces, New Mexico on January 22, 2022. Mary was the youngest of three children born to Laurence and Frances Webb on July 16, 1937 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The family lived in a coal mining camp until the early 1950's, after which they moved to Carlsbad, New Mexico. Mary also lived in Artesia and Hillsboro, New Mexico, but Las Cruces was always her true home. She married the love of her life, John D. Yarbrough, in March 1979. They spent 38 happy years together working in business, traveling the world, and running a cattle ranch in Hillsboro, New Mexico. Mary was a woman of great faith and always trusted in the Lord's plan for her life. She was a life-long member of Calvary Baptist Church where she made many deep and lasting friendships. Mary was blessed with creativity and was talented in many areas including art, music, and cooking. Some of her favorite pastimes involved reading, gardening, singing, playing guitar, painting, and learning Spanish. Everyone loved to gather around her table for cozy home-cooked meals like her famous pancakes or enchiladas. She also knew how to make a mean margarita. More than anything, Mary loved laughing in the company of her family and friends. She also loved her dogs and made many friends through her involvement in dog agility training. Mary was preceded in death by both her parents, brothers Robert and Ralph Webb, great-granddaughter Remi Bullock, and husband John D. Yarbrough. She is survived by daughters Susan Payne, Laura Bullock, son Michael Mulliniks and his wife Jen, grandchildren Liana Swarengin and her husband Lance, Sean Bullock, Eric and Eliana Mullliniks, and great-grandchildren Adeline, Oliver, and Dillon Swarengin. A private burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery and a Celebration of Life service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church.
