Mary Nell Washburn of Las Cruces New Mexico passed away Thursday, October 22nd, 2026 in Las Cruces. She was born April 23rd 1944 to Robert Wellborn and Lorena Patterson Wellborn in Snyder Texas. Mary Nell graduated from Magdalena High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from New Mexico State University in 1970 with a degree in Education. She spent several years teaching school before starting her own business. Mary Nell is survived by her children Sean (Dawnette) Washburn, Colynn (Jaden) Blach, Owen (Tricia) Washburn, 10 grandkids, Bryce, Braiden, Tierney, Cain, Lakin, Cole, Devin, Peyton, Cutter and Cannon, as well as 13 great grandchildren, Her Brother Dick wellborn and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lorena Wellborn, brother Bob Wellborn, and Sister Joanne Washburn. A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
