Michael John Hallock, Senior, 76 passed away peacefully to eternal life at his Las Cruces home at 7:15pm, March 25, 2013. He was born in Crowns Heights, Brooklyn, New York on November 8, 1936 to John Henry and Elizabeth Ann Hallock. He was the eighth of ten brothers and sisters; being the youngest male. He married Maureen Quinn on February 7, 1959. He served 23 years as a electronics and avionics technician in the U.S. Army retiring from WSMR in 1981 as a Sergeant First Class. Tours of duty includes Ft. Dix, Ft. Bragg, WSMR, Mainz and Boblingen Germany, Pleiku Vietnam, Daegu and Uijongbu ROK and Dominican Republic. He had a long life long enjoyment of model railroading with membership in the local Model Rail Road Club which entertains children and adults alike with their traveling rail road. As a child growing up in Brooklyn and all of his adult life he was fascinated with the NYFD and has accumulated an impressive collection of fire apparatus. He is survived by his spouse Maureen; children Michael John Hallock, II and Julie Ann, Brian James and Denine Susan, Kenneth Joseph and Freya Wanda, Paul Edward and Stephanie Ann; grandchildren Michael Jason and Haley Elizabeth Mitschke, Mackenzie Lynn and Raymond Moses Jaramillo Jr., Tawney Shea, Stephanie Nicole, Michael John, III, Kirstie Anna, Nicola Ann, Kenneth Joseph Jr. Hallock; great grandchildren are: Raymond Moses, III. and Molli Ann Jaramillo, Sofia Alexandra and Scarlet Reese Mitschke; and sister Delia and William Rush. He was a gentle, kind and simple man who would give his last dime in his pocket and shirt off his back to a complete stranger. He loved and gave to Maureen all he had right up to his very last breath. He cared deeply and loved his children and grandchildren very much. His greatest achievements are undoubtedly his four sons, Michael, Brian, Kenneth and Paul whom he cherished and loved unconditionally. Proceeded in death by Henry and Elisabeth (his parents) and siblings: Ana, Jim, George, Marie, Eddie, Ethel, MaryAnn and John. Rosary and Mass will be held at the The Cathedral of The Immaculate Heart of Mary April 1, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Interment will be at the Ft.
