Ralph Joseph Ray

Ralph Joseph Ray (75) passed away on May 6, 2026, in comfort at his home in Las Cruces, NM.

Ralph was born on May 23, 1950, in Spaulding, NE. He was the oldest son to Murt Charles Ray and Norma Jean (Killion) Ray. Ralph graduated from Spalding High School, from there served in the United States Army until he retired in 1991.

Ralph married his wife, Wanda, on June 1, 2000, and were married for 25 years.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Murt and Norma Jean, sister, Cindy Ray, and a brother, Lee Ray. Survivors include his sister, Sharlyn Miller of Little Rock AR, son, Ralph Ray Jr of Milford, KS, stepson, Jason Schrag of Las Cruces, NM, stepdaughter, Jessica Schrag of Shawnee, OK, stepdaughter, Naomi Schrag of Las Cruces, NM, stepson Nicholaus Schrag, of McPherson, KS, as well as10 step grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren.

A family and friends gathering will be on Saturday, May 30 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, with the memorial service to follow from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Getz Funeral Home. The burial will be at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery on June 1, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the American Cancer Society.
