Raul M. Rodriguez

Raul M. Rodriguez, 63, of Las Cruces, died Wednesday June 29, 2011. "Mad Dog" or "Cat Fish" as he was fondly known was born Sept. 3, 1947 in Central, NM to Blas and Enriqueta Rodriguez. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served our country honorably. Raul was also retired from the US Postal Service after many years of faithful service; he enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral and member of the Cursillo Movement but his passion was for his family. Raul will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Christella Rodriguez of the family home; two daughters Carla and Genevieve Rodriguez both of Las Cruces; grandchildren Devin, Jacob and Amorette; brother Ray Rodriguez and wife Lucy of Santa Fe, NM; sisters Mary Butler and husband Stephen of Rio Rancho, NM., Romy Martinez and husband Henry and Viola Rodriguez all of Las Cruces. Raul was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. His funeral mass to celebrate his life will be at 10 am on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Raul's grandsons. PDF Printable Version
