Raymond Montoya

Raymond Montoya, born on September 2, 1976, in Morenci, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. A devoted family man, Raymond cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a loving son to his mother, Mary Montoya, and a proud father to his daughter Rhealeen and son Mathew. His greatest joy came from being a grandfather to his beloved grandson, Joseph-Ray Salazar, with whom he created countless unforgettable memories. 

Raymond was known for his deep love of the outdoors, where he found solace while fishing and camping with family and friends. He took great pleasure in sharing stories around the campfire, his laughter and warmth drawing everyone closer together. A true San Francisco 49ers fan, he shared his passion for the game with family, often recounting tales of legendary matches and players. 

An inherently caring person, Raymond was always available to lend a helping hand to those in need. His infectious sense of humor brought smiles to the faces of everyone around him, as he had a remarkable talent for cracking jokes and sharing light-hearted banter. Raymond's legacy will always be defined by his unwavering love for his family and his dedication to fostering connections. Becoming a father and grandfather were his proudest accomplishments, and he will be deeply missed by his children, Rhealeen and Mathew and grandson Joseph-Ray, siblings, Linda Padilla, Mikey Montoya, his nieces, Jessica, Elissa, Kaila, Erica, Mia, and Jenayah, His nephews Jacob, And London, who will remember him fondly for his generosity and kindness. 

As we celebrate Raymond's life, we invite family and friends to join us in honoring his memory. Ceremonies will be held to commemorate the joy he brought into our lives and to reflect on the beautiful moments we shared. We will carry his spirit with us, ensuring that his legacy of love, laughter, and compassion continues to inspire all who knew him. Raymond was preceded in death by: Eddie Montoya (father), Eddie Montoya Jr (brother), Michelle Montoya (sister).

Services are scheduled for Monday, June 22, 2026, beginning at 10:30 am with a rosary followed by mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Tortugas. Burial will take place at Tortugas Cemetery immediately after.
