Rebeca Rascon, 79, of Las Cruces, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009. She was born Oct. 31, 1930 in Tubutama, Mexico to Maria Teresa Martinez. She enjoyed music, cooking, and was respected and loved by all for her values she showed and taught everyone. Mrs. Rascon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Randolfo Rascon of the family home; sons Jorge R. Rascon and wife Gloria of Dallas, TX and Danny Rascon and wife Debbie of Las Cruces; daughters Gloria Medina and husband Carlos of Chipley, FL. Alicia McCarty and husband Carl of Jacksonville, FL, Rebecca Aguilar and Concha Gray both of Las Cruces; sister Guadalupe Gutierrez of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico and by her 14 grandchildren Alicia Aguilar-Hinkle, Maria Aguilar, Daniel Aguilar Jr., Michelle Rascon-Aragon, Ruby Rascon, Michael Rascon, Jorge Rascon Jr., Anagabriela Medina, Monica Dunivan, Benton Gray, Nicholas Rascon, Samantha Rascon, Aaron McCarty and Carl McCarty Jr and by her 6 great-grandchildren. Her mother and sister Enrriqueta Sanchez, preceded Rebeca in death. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church in Dona Ana, NM where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. A funeral mass to celebrate her life is at 11 am on Wednesday; Dec. 9, 2009 also at Our Lady of Purification with Fr. Miguel Macaya officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at HillCrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
