Rose Gonzales

Rose Gonzales, age 73, was born on July 19, 1952, to parents Manuel and Amalia Cobos. She was born alongside her twin brother, Tony. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend peacefully passed away on July 8, 2026.

Rose was known for her strength, resilience, loving heart, and unwavering faith. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, serving Jehovah was the foundation of her life that brought her happiness and comfort through every trial she faced. She looked forward to a paradise here on earth with her family and friends.

Rose dedicated much of her life to caring for her family and working as a realtor. She was a loyal friend who always looked out for the best interests of others. She loved to sing and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor that kept her laughing alongside her loved ones.

Rose was preceded in death by her twin brother, Tony Cobos; her beloved grandson, Nicodemus (Nico) Gonzales; and her parents, Manuel Cobos Sr. and Amalia B. Cobos.

Rose is survived by her husband, John L. Gonzales; her sons, Juan Luis (Rocky) Gonzales, and Sergio (J.J.) Gonzales and his wife, Jessica; her daughters, Dulce (Candi) Washington and her husband, George, and Francisca (Xochitl) Gonzales; her grandchildren, Diajhez Dixon and her husband, Kamryn, Jade Gonzales, Jax Gonzales, and Juan Luis (Little Rocky) Gonzales; her great-grandchildren, Levi, Kaya, Lola, Nina, and Nilo; her sisters, Lupe Pacheco, Gloria Sanchez, Margarita Martinez, Ernestine Alvarez and her husband, Chuy, Isadora VandenBout and her husband, Jack, and Eva Aguilar and her husband, Juan; and her brothers, Joe Cobos and his wife, Rozzana, and Robert Cobos and his wife, Cathy, and several loving nephews and nieces.

Her family finds comfort in a scripture that meant so much to her: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4.

The memorial service will be Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Rd., Las Cruces, NM 88011.
