It is with a heavy heart and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mom, grandma, great grandma, great great grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Rose Ann Valenzuela. Mom passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on May 20, 2025. She was 82 years old at the time of her passing.

She was born on October 25, 1942, to Rosalio and Elaisa V. Nogales in Alamogordo, NM. Mom was a very devoted Catholic from St. Mary’s and St. Charles grade schools. She graduated from Albuquerque High School. She retired from El Paso Electric Company, in Las Cruces, NM as a Customer Service Supervisor after 38 years of service.

She enjoyed her retirement to the fullest, from going to Curves gym every day to get her 30 minute workout in to going to the casino, Inn of the Mountain Gods with Fernando (ET). Mom really enjoyed being outside tending to her roses and irises, it brought her joy. Mom enjoyed watching the game show channel when she wasn’t outside sitting on her porch swing having a puff, as she called it. She was a wonderful, caring and loving mom, grandma, great grandma, and great great grandma.

Rose Ann is survived by her daughters, Lisa Fernandez (Raymond), and Mona Valenzuela, and her son, Cayetano Valenzuela, Jr. (Frances) and her stepson Michael Roy Valenzuela (Tammy) all of Las Cruces, NM. Grandchildren, RaeAnn Fernandez, Vicente Fernandez, Vanessa Trujillo, Franke Trujillo, Nick (The Dude) Trujillo, Cheyenne Trujillo, Richie Valenzuela, Ted Valenzuela, Thomas Valenzuela, and Sebastian Valenzuela. 17 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren, her dear friend Fernando Sanchez all of Las Cruces, NM and her sister Mary Helen Flores (Ted) of Albuquerque, NM and Aunt Carmen Nogales of Round Rock, TX along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers and two nephews.

At her request cremation will take place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 am Thursday, June 5, 2025, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church at 5035 Holsome Rd., Las Cruces, NM. Interment of cremations will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Church in the St. Francis Garden Columbarium at 1327 N. Miranda St., Las Cruces, NM.

Pallbearers will be Vicente Fernandez, Franke Trujillo, Nick Trujillo, Cheyenne Trujillo, and Richie Valenzuela.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to her Doctor Jay Wedel and his staff at Health Care Solutions, her caregiver Liz Hernandez, and also to the staff and nurses from Enhabit Hospice.
