With hearts full of love and an overwhelming sense of loss, we announce the passing of our beloved Rudy Sias on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Rudy was a loving son, brother, cousin, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and friend. To his family, he was someone whose presence was cherished by all as he brought love, memories, laughter, and a sense of connection that can never be replaced.

Rudy had a special love for music. It was a meaningful part of his life and something that brought him joy even in times of weakness. The music he enjoyed, the songs he shared, and the memories created through music will always be reminders of the joy that was part of his life.

Rudy also spent his professional life serving and advocating for others. In his last career years with the State of New Mexico, he worked as a case worker with Adult Protective Services, where he helped protect and advocate for the elderly. His work required compassion, patience, understanding, and a genuine concern for the well-being and dignity of others. Through his career, Rudy made a difference in a countless amount of lives. For people who needed someone to speak up for them, help them, and make sure they were treated with care and respect our beloved Rudy was there for them.

That spirit of caring extended beyond his profession. Rudy had a heart for people and helping others that was a meaningful part of who he was. His loyalty was evident in friendships maintained over decades. His work ethic was reflected in a career that occupied most of his adult life. His determination was exemplified in the decisions he made and followed through. His pride could be found in family. He taught perseverance and determination, not simply through advice, but through the way he lived his life. Work Hard, Take Responsibility for what has been entrusted to you. Stand by the people who matter. Be proud of what you build. And when life becomes difficult, don’t allow difficulty alone to decide what happens next. Live life with integrity, loyalty and honor.

Rudy leaves behind his dearly loved wife, Catalina Sias, loved stepson, Michael Guerrero, precious twin daughters, Maritza and Mariah, cherished grandchildren, Malakai, Alayna, Sofiah, and Alyssa. He also leaves behind his loving mother Rosemary and stepfather, Teodoro Guerrero; his much-loved brothers and sisters; many loved nieces, nephews and many friends who were fortunate to share a part of his life.

Rudy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose and Josefina Rodriguez, his father Rodolfo Sias; and his brother Benito Rodriguez.

His legacy will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends, and through every person whose life he touched. The compassion he showed others and the love he gave his family are gifts that will continue long after his passing.

Though we cannot keep him here with us, we can keep his memory alive- in the stories we tell, in the music we hear, in the kindness we show others, and in the love, we continue to give one another.

Rudy, you were deeply loved and you will be deeply missed. May the music you love continue to play in our hearts until the day we meet again. Rest peacefully in the loving arms of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
