With hearts shattered yet full of love, we share the passing of our beloved, Dr. Terry Boulware, who was called home to our Heavenly Father. Dr. Terry Boulware, a distinguished interventional cardiologist whose steady hands and boundless compassion saved countless lives, passed away peacefully on October 22nd, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born in St. Louis, MI, on February 26th, 1953, to W.E. and Clara Boulware, where he and his siblings grew up in a loving and close-knit family. Gatherings with his large extended family often included a musical performance with Terry on the guitar, accompanied by his sister Debbie and cousin Gerry. He grew up playing and excelling in baseball, and was awarded a full ride baseball scholarship to Cornell University. While he loved baseball, his heart was calling him to medicine. He turned down the scholarship to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. He was a member of the inaugural class of the University of Missouri - Kansas City Medical School, which was the first six-year medical school in the United States. He went on to complete his residency at John’s Hopkins University. He was a distinguished cardiology fellow at Emory University under the guidance Dr. Andreas Gruentzig, the inventor of ballon angioplasty. Dr. Boulware dedicated his life to the art and science of healing. Over a career spanning decades, a gifted interventional cardiologist, he saved countless lives through both his remarkable skill and his deep empathy for those in his care. To his patients, he was more than a doctor, he was a calm voice in a storm, a source of hope when it was needed most. His work was not just a profession but a calling, and his legacy lives on in every heart he helped mend.

Beyond the hospital walls, Dr. Boulware was a man of extraordinary curiosity and zest for life.  He had a deep love for travel, often finding inspiration in new cultures and cuisines and he brought that passion home through his remarkable talent for cooking. He loved to display those cooking talents at his favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. He was a simple man and found great joy in what mattered most: faith, family, friends, and food. What a priceless gift it has been for our family to have him.

Dr. Boulware is survived by his devoted wife, Sonda Boulware, sister Vickie Johnson and their beloved children, Paul (Stephanie), Mark (Kelsey), Doug (Erin), Stephanie (Dan), Erica (Joey), E’lysa (George). Including close family members, Suzanne, Joe, and Shawn. His beloved grandchildren, Madeline, Mason, Henry, Jaxson, Lillian, Amelia, Evangeline, Pierce, and Emory, who carry forward his love, integrity, and insatiable sense of wonder. He is proceeded in death by his loving parents W.E. and Clara Boulware, sister Deborah Hall, brother Rick Rustige, and daughter Emily Lanier.

His warmth, humor, and generosity of spirit will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and the many patients whose lives he forever changed.
