Venancio "Benny" Vega
July 29, 1943 — October 1, 2025
Venancio (Benny) Vega of Las Cruces, NM passed away October 1st. 2025 at the age of 82.
He was born on July 29th, 1943, to Filomena and Jesus Vega.
Venancio worked at Porter Farm Center in Hatch for many years. Where his dedicated work ethic earned him the respect of his co-workers.
He loved his vehicles and enjoyed restoring them. His favorite pastime was hunting for car parts and going to car shows.
He loved collecting miniature tractors and enjoyed hanging out with his great grandson Logan.
Though Venancio has left this world, his spirit lives on in the vehicles he restored, the memories he created, and the hearts of all who loved him.
He is fondly remembered by his family and friends
Venancio is survived by his wife Frances Vega, his daughters Yolanda Vega Washburn and Elizabeth (Lisa) Vega. His granddaughters Kayla Martinez and Valery Lopez. His brothers Jesus Vega Jr., Eloy Vega and Roger Vega. His great grandchildren Logan, Jayda, Jemma, and Rowen.
He was preceded in death by his parents Filomena and Jesus Vega. His grandson Eddie (J.R.) Martinez Jr. His brothers Remijio Vega and Leo Vega and sisters Aurora Cordova and Angie Gomez.
Funeral Services for Venancio will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday October 25th, 2025, at Getz Funeral Home 1410 E Bowman Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88001.
