Victor Barela

Victor Barela, age 87, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on November 10, 2025. Born on June 28, 1938, he was a devoted member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Rosalia Barela; his son, Joseph John; and his brothers, Richard (Dickie) Barela and Pat Barela.

Victor is survived by his brother, Rudy (Mary) Barela; his wife, Esther Silva Barela; and his children, Vic (Adela) Barela, Merlinda (Curtis) Baker, Michael (Monica) Barela, and Philip Barela. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Getz Funeral Home. Interment will take place privately at a later date.
