Virginia S. "Sammy" Sampson, 85, of Las Cruces, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005. She was born May 13, 1919 in St. Louis, MO to Ben and Hazel Dreifus Stone. She was an artist where she was awarded many medals and ribbons for her paintings and drawings. Sammy also had a degree in journalism and was a strong animal advocate. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Virginia will be laid to rest with her late husband Phillip Joseph Sampson at 9:00 AM today Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005 at Masonic Cemetery. Rev.
