Wesley Fisher, Son, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle and Friend passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Wesley was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 16, 1959 to Netty and Calvin Fisher. Wesley attended Mayfield High School, where he played football and was often referred to as the "Turtle". He may have been slow, but always got the job done. Wes formed many long and lasting friendships during his years at Mayfield. Wes had a wide variety of friends, from people who could put you in jail to people who should be in jail. He was always willing to help anyone at anytime even if it would put him in a bind or make him miss something he wanted to do. Wesley was a big grizzly bear with a kind and loving heart. After graduation Wes began his career in Road Construction, working for a variety of companies throughout his life. He has lived in many places but always called Las Cruces home. Wes was an avid outdoors man. Camping, four-wheeling, golfing and spending time with his friends was very important to him. His best friend and traveling companion was his dog Shadow. Where ever Wes went Shadow went, whether at work or out four wheeling, they were never far apart. Shadow is still waiting for Wes to come home. Wes is survived by his Father, Calvin of Las Cruces, his sister Sharyn (Walter) Brown of Las Cruces; nephews Steve (Jana) Brown of Mocksville, NC; Jason (Hayley) Buchanan of San Diego, CA and Joseph Buchanan of San Diego, CA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Netty Fisher; his brother Terry Buchanan and great niece Cari Joyce Brown. Wesley will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He has left a big hole in our hearts. Because of Wesley's love of animals, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Wesley's name to the Humane Society at 403 S Melendres St, Las Cruces, NM 88005, or the Rottweiler Rescue of Southern NM at rrsnm@msn.com A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10:00 am at Getz Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Zamora officiating.
